NDA Examination is organized by UPSC (Union Public Service   Commission). NDA (National Defence Academy) is the best   Organization that trains the trainees (applicants) to get selected for    Indian Armed Forces (Indian Army, Indian Air Force, and   Indian Navy) as officers. Aspirants may approach the academy by   Succeeding in a national level entrance examination (NDA 2018-   2019). NDA examination is conducted two times in a year. NDA   (I) 2018 will be organized on 22nd April 2018 and NDA (II)   2018 will be organized on 10th September 2018.

The NDA is a national-level exam, organized twice a year, namely NDA I and NDA II. A large number of students appear for the NDA exam to secure their careers in Indian defense services. The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) conducts the NDA examination in several cities across the country.

NDA Eligibility Criteria 2018

NDA 2018 will be conducted for the All India candidates whose desire is to join Indian Defence forces. Through NDA, the candidates are recruited in Air Force, Navy, and Army. The interested candidates can apply for the NDA 2018 from 10th January 2018 (for NDA I) and from 6th June 2018 (for NDA II). Before applying must ensure your eligibility as only those who have to satisfy the eligibility condition are eligible to write the exam. Confirm your eligibility from here. The NDA 2018 eligibility criteria are given below:

 
Citizenship

The appearing candidate must be a citizen of India, Nepal or Bhutan. A Tibetan refugee came to India before 01 January 1962 with the mindset to become a permanent resident of India are also eligible. A person of Indian origin who has migrated from Burma, SriLanka, Pakistan & East African Countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, and Ethiopia or Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India are also eligible to apply.

Candidates other than the citizen of India and Gorkha subjects of Nepal have required a certificate of eligibility issued by the Government of India.




Qualification Criteria
The minimum qualification required for Indian Army wing, Navy and Air Force is as follows:
Eligibility for Indian Army:
The candidates want to apply for Indian Army must have completed 12th or its equivalent exam from a well-recognized board. The appearing candidates can also apply.
Eligibility for Indian Navy and Air Force:
Those seeking for Indian Navy and Air Force must have passed their 12th/appearing from a recognized board or University with Physics and Mathematics as a compulsory subject.
Note: Students who have debarred by the Ministry of Defence from holding any type of Commission in the Defence Services are not eligible to apply. Those candidates have failed INSB/PABT earlier are not eligible for Air Force.
Age Limit, Gender & Marital Status
For NDA (1) 2018: The candidates possessing age between 2nd July 1999 to 1st July, 2002 are eligible for the examination. If born before 2nd July, 1999 and after 1st July, 2002 then not eligible for NDA (1) 2018 exam.
For NDA (2) 2018: Those who have age between 2nd January 2000 to 1st January 2003 are permitted to write the exam. If the candidate bears the age before 2nd January 2000 and after 1st January 2003, then he/she is not allowed to appear the exam.
Only unmarried male candidates are eligible for NDA examination. Girls are not allowed for the NDA entrance examination.
Note-1: The DOB mentioned in the Matriculation/Higher Secondary Examination Certificate available or an equivalent certificate will be considered by the commission.
Note-2: Candidates are informed not to marry until they complete their full training. A candidate who marries subsequent to the date of his application though successful at this or any subsequent exam will not be selected for training. A candidate who marries during the training shall be discharged and will be liable to refund all expenditure incurred on him by the Government.

Physical Standards
Candidates must be physically and mentally fit as per the physical standards maintained by the National Defence Academy and Naval Academy Examination 2018. The detailed physical standards are mentioned here:
Candidates are required to avoid the following minor defects at the time of medical examination:
·         Wax (Ears).
·         Deviated Nasal Septum.
·         Hydrocele/Phimosis.
·         Overweight/Underweight.
·         Under Sized Chest.
·         Piles.
·         Tonsillitis.
·         Gynaecomastia.
·         Varicocele.
Body Tattoos
Permanent body tattoos are accepted only on the inner face of the forearm. Tattoos on the inside of elbow to the wrist and on the reverse side of palm/back (dorsal) side of hand/Permanent body tattoos on any other part of the body are not acceptable. Tribes with tattoo marks on the face or body as per their existing custom and traditions will be permitted on a case to case basis. Comdt Selection Centre will be competent authority for clearing such cases.
Height & Weight Standards

The minimum height measurement is 157 cms (162.5 cms. for Air Force). For Gorkhas and belonging to hills of North-Eastern areas of India, Garhwal, and Kumaon, the minimum heights will be 5 cms. less. In case of candidates from Lakshadweep, the minimum height can be reduced by 2 cms. The detailed height/weight standards are mentioned below:
